Tips for Men to Step Out in Style During Winter Season

“Behind the perfection of a man’s style, must lie the passion of a man’s soul”, said Oscar Wilde. This winter, don’t let the cold dampen your spirit or sense of fashion. You may think that men’s wear doesn’t have much room for exploration, but here are some cool tips to dress smart against the weather.
Men's Winter Fashion
Undershirt and underwear – for formal events or while going to office, a plain white undershirt works great as a base for additional warmer layers. You can also wear a plain white T-shirt under the shirt if it’s too cold. For legs, long johns and woolen socks are ideal during frigid temperatures.

Under Shirts
Sweater and jackets for men – depending on the intensity or harshness of the cold, you can go for cotton sweaters, woolen sweaters or high quality leather jackets. Avoid wearing too bright or loud colors for sweaters. Darker colors and heavier fabrics look better and are safe for any occasion. You can go for navy blues, greens or browns.

Men Branded Coats
Overcoats – if you are from a very cold region or travelling to one, an overcoat is must. Wool is the ideal material since it’s the warmest and most flexible. The coat bottom should reach 6 to 8 inches below your knee and the coat has to be a size larger than your suit jacket.

Jackets for Men
Winter hats – basic ski caps, fedoras, bowlers and newsboy hats look stylish and will keep you warm. Avoid ear muffs, ear warmers or pom-pom hats.

Gloves – leather ones look best and the color should complement the rest of your outfit. The glove inner lining should be warm, preferably cashmere.

Gloves
Scarves – it can keep your neck warm and the color should go well with your shirt. You can fold the scarf lengthwise and pull the 2 ends through the loop on the opposite side. A more casual look can be achieved if you place the scarf on your neck, with one slightly longer than the other, and then wrap it around and though the loop.

What to avoid – don’t wear an oversized or puffy jacket. Unisex boots are not a good idea. Avoid excessively bulky layering, it gives a shapeless appearance. Never mix sports or athletic gloves with formal winter garments.

Winter wear for men is constantly climbing the fashion ladder with wide range of designs, styles, colors, and fabrics. How good an outfit might look, depends ultimately on the personal style and attitude of an individual. And finally, someone rightly said, “being a true gentleman never goes out of fashion”. Let’s not forget that!
